"Had an amazing experience at this South Indian banana leaf restaurant! The food was bursting with flavor perfectly spiced curries, crispy papadams, and the freshest rice served the traditional way on a banana leaf. The variety of vegetarian dishes was impressive, and everything tasted so authentic and homemade. Service was warm and quick, and the staff made us feel right at home. We got the crab curry and lamb shank both were really good. Definitely a must-visit if you’re craving a wholesome, satisfying South Indian meal!"

"Excellent fresh food, at good prices. I ordered the banana leaf meal and I really enjoyed all the dishes that came on it. The add on chicken chukka and crab pieces were fantastic too. What really elevated the experience though was the service, especially from Naresh. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and all they went above and beyond. Keep up the good work!"

"Great service, decent tasty food, high price. Date of visit - 19 Feb 2026 Great service. Unlike in many other Indian banana leaf places, here you don't have to ask to give papadam or achar or refills, there are always someone around to give you what you need. Good service. Food is tasty, they have 5-6 veggies in the banana leaf meals, plus a small vada and a spoon of curd rice. Nice. All items are tasty, though nothing was wow.... All good so far. Only the price is little too much. RM 40-45 for a banana leaf meal + a chicken dish + a drink is on the higher side, in my opinion. [The price is displayed there, and no complaints about food]. I mean for a fancy restaurant with great ambiance and quiet seating, this pricing may be ok, but this place is just like any other mamak/indian restaurant - no ac, open seating and tables arranged very close to each other. [Have to mention that the whole place is clean and neat and not dirty]. It deserves premium pricing compared to other 'biasa' Indian restaurants, but this is little too much, I think."

"This is our second time eating here and the quality is consistent - which is yummy and I like it mostly because it has a wide variety of dishes that not a lot of banana leaf places do! The ingredients used are fresh. The side dishes on the banana leaf never disappoints as well. Crab rassam is the bomb as you can really taste the crab flavor. The curries are just nice and flavorful, not too spicy so it doesn’t ruin the rest of the dishes. Going to be our go to banana leaf moving forward. Oh! Forgot to mention the cleanliness even the toilets Service by the staff are super friendly as you can see very well trained by their boss who’s always there wearing a smile."

"We went to Maya's last Friday for lunch. I was vegetarian and my other 2 friends were none vegetarian. We ate banana leaf meals. There were variety of vegetable dishes and non vegetarian dishes. Fabulous food. My favourite was mango chutney. We ended our meal with nice 'Bru' coffee."

"A Truly Improved Gem – Maya’s of Solaris Mont Kiara I’m genuinely impressed with how much Maya’s has improved, especially in terms of cleanliness and overall quality. The management clearly takes feedback seriously — everything feels fresher, better organized, and more inviting. The staff deserve special mention: they’re always welcoming, quick to attend to guests, and ever-ready to meet individual needs. Today Zubir( the most charming) heated up my masala tea that had gone cold. I’ve noticed their patience and kindness, even with difficult or restless children; Naresh( one photo) I witnessed always with smiles attends this kid who drops their toy for fun of it — that level of professionalism is rare! Their new Friday vegetarian meal, now priced at RM17.90 (down from RM21.90), has become my favourite meal of the week. It’s both satisfying and good value. A special shout-out to Ayu, ( photo) the cashier with the lovely flower in her hair — her charming presence and warm smile make everyone feel right at home. And Suresh, the friendly gentleman, greets every guest like a VIP, regardless of how much they spend. That genuine equality in treatment sets Maya’s apart from many other Indian restaurants, even though it’s considered a high-end dining spot. As a Penang girl, my taste buds can be quite demanding, and I appreciate that the team handles feedback graciously — never defensive, always open to improvement. I honestly expected to be ignored after a previous critical review, but instead, they welcomed me back even more warmly and showed a real commitment to doing better. That’s the kind of maturity and humility you want to see in restaurant owners and staff. Even though the team often looks like they’ve had long hours, they look exhausted, they never fail to greet guests with sincere smiles and warmth that’s hard to find elsewhere. While the food can sometimes vary slightly in consistency, today I noted mango chutney, crab curry and vegetarian spread was excellent, though the prices are on the higher side, the overall experience, hospitality, and my favourite masala tea Ripan makes, keep me coming back. Every visit to Maya’s feels like coming home — and that’s something truly special."
